Bellamarsh, Gappah and the Chudleigh's.
There are 3 good starting points selected where, it should be possible to park. Choosing point 1 you head South down a gentle green lane until the river Teign is reached and crossed by a bridge. Turn west and walk along the riverbank passing under the bridge of the A38 dual carriageway. Head to Bellamarsh on the Chudleigh-Kingsteignton road (point 2). Bear left over a style then climb up some steps to enter the field. Some good cardio-vascular exercise in this bit. Cross the field, over a style down some steps turning left and climb a fairly easy green lane, which at the time was filled with hedgerow flowers, to the Gappah road. Join the road head left then shortly cross a style and head across the field, cross another style and head toward the top end of the copse in front. Another couple of styles and you will pass through the woods, parallel and high above the narrow sunken road. You will now see the stark splendour of Chudleigh Rock, well known for the climbing centre. Proceed down the track, passing Lawell house on your left. Make your way up to the road, turn left toward the dual carriageway, stay on the pavement where possible and make your way back toward Chudleigh Knighton. Probably the most demanding but visually rewarding of the walks in terms of broad views. Remember to turn back and look on where you have been. Spot Haytor, Finlake, Canonteign Woods the Teign Valley and lots more.
