Public Relations

An interesting, or lively, or colourful photograph accompanying text about your event or occasion will help catch the editor's eye and helps to get your submission into the press. The picture needs to be well composed without detail being lost and careful editing can make sure that mouths are closed or smiling and eyes open. It is important that the photographer makes a selection and can then get the best out of the favourite choices. If your submission is likely to be greyscale a well adjusted black and white photograph needs to be prepared. Remember, your photograph will possibly be used verbatim because newspapers are busy places with deadlines and little or no time to spare in doctoring a photograph.
